Description
The farm La Sassicaia is a country homestead, which is born from the recovery of an old piggery. It is the perfect place for the ones who want to escape the city in order to come back to the country and enjoy a more genuine lifestyle. A nice and welcoming domestic atmosphere will characterize your stay. The house is surrounded by a wide olive grove and a lush garden: a cypress-lined road leads to the entrance. The building develops on two floors. There is a main lobby which welcomes the guests, followed by a bright open space with fireplace which overlooks a great porch: here, conviviality is favoured during the breezy starry nights or during the summer afternoons, when birds tweet and cicadas chirp.
The ground floor includes two spacious double rooms, with en-suite bathroom with shower. Moreover, there is another wide living room. The stairs lead to the first floor, where there are two double rooms. The first one has a queen-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom with a large shower. The second one has an en-suite bathroom too, but has also a sitting room where it is possible to relax. Both the rooms have a balcony, in order to enjoy a 360 degree panorama of the hills: it is possible to see the mountain Monte Amiata, the hill of Scansano, the small hill of Ghiaccio Forte, the castle of the hamlet Borgo Marsiliana which was built by the princely family Corsini, the ruins of Stachilagi’s castle which arises from the Mediterranean maquis. And then olive groves, vineyards, wheat fields and local plants stretch until the river Albegna: the promontory of Argentario and the island Isola del Giglio can be seen on the horizon. Each room is equipped with air conditioning system, even if it is unusual to use it as the sea breeze reaches the hills and mitigates the summer heat. For the ones who would like to stay during the winter, the house has an heating system and a great fireplace. All the inner doors are soundproof, as well as all the windows and French windows are equipped with mosquito nets. The kitchen is fully equipped with every appliances, including a fridge which can produce fresh water, a dishwasher, an electric oven and a six burner stove. Hospitality is very important for us: we wish your stay will be unforgettable and you will cherish lovely memories. In order to celebrate your arrival, you will find your “welcome basket” in your room.

The nearest airports are Rome Fiumicino, Rome Ciampino and Pisa.
By train
Both from Rome and Pisa are no rail links with the neighboring resort of Albinia (about 15 kms).
By car
From Milan, take the highway A1 / A12 to Rosignano Maritime, then take the SS1 Aurelia towards Grosseto / Rome, exit at Albinia and follow the signs to Albinia / Manciano / Terme di Saturnia along the Maremma Regional Road 74 kms 12 about as long Marsiliana, continue for about 3 kms along the SR74 Maremma direction Manciano / thermal baths of Saturnia, at the roundabout turn right onto county road 150 Guinzoni, after about 1 km turn left (along an avenue of cypress trees) and 300 meters left arrival Podere La Sassicaia.
From Rome, take the motorway A12 to Civitavecchia and then take the SS1 Aurelia towards Grosseto. Albinia exit, signposted Albinia / Manciano / Terme di Saturnia along the Maremma Regional Road 74 for approximately kms 12 until Marsiliana, continue for about 3 km Along the SR74 Maremma direction Manciano / Terme di Saturnia, turn at the roundabout right on county road 150 Guinzoni, after about 1 km turn left (along an avenue of cypress trees) and 300 meters on the left coming Podere La Sassicaia.
